Black and White Processing

So I hadn't done any black and white processing since A Level Photography back in Cornwall about six years ago.

But I wanted to do it again so I took a leaf from my friend Gaby's book of darkroom etiquette and found a boy who would show me what to do. Then mixed up all the chemicals and hand-tanked my films from France.

The exposures came out lovely, this is my favorite image:

Dazed Stonehenge

The lovely Saga Sig (saganendalausa.blogspot.com) told me about this incredible editorial from Dazed and Confused a few years ago. It was shot at Stone Henge! I would love to get permission to shoot there one day... until then enjoy:

Carnac Alignments

I did a little bit of location scouting in Brittany when I was there before Christmas.

These black and white 35mm disposable camera images show the Carnac Alignments, hundreds and hundreds of ancient standing stones spread across three huge fields.

Most of the stones aren't very big but there are so many of them they look really amazing.

I would love to do a fashion story here, but you aren't allowed to go up close to the stones and most of the big impressive ones are fenced off, which didn't stop me when taking these, but i think a large team might be noticed...

Instead of shooting here I'm going to concentrait on fining less well known standing stones for the location of my final major.

Overexposure

These burnt out Polaroids are from my test with Eva on Friday.

Lots more to edit but I like these two that were exposed for too long...

I'm so happy when things go wrong like this because it normally shows something that I didn't expect, and sometimes the accidents are beautiful.

Portrait in Elle Canada

I had forgotten about the portraits I did for Elle Canada of Mende Nazer back in July.

They were in the September issues of the magazine:

The main portrait is mine, and they even spelled me name right with the dots and everything!

I'm really pleased they chose this one of Mende smiling, I think it goes to show that you can take a better portrait when you know someone well, because here I got a really genuine reaction from making her laugh.

Having trouble ordering back issues of Elle to the UK though... I will keep trying.

Still Life

Practicing with Polaroid: A Deer Skull and Antlers.

I will hopefully be able to use this skull as a prop in my final shoot for school next month as it's based on the theme of witches.
