More Objet Scans

Suzie's life-drawings scanned with bees and bird wings...

Girl and Butterfly

These are multiple exposures taken on medium format Diana.

They are of a model and a butterfly, all the exposures were done in-camera, so these were pretty surprising

Summer Buttercups

Last spring there were so many buttercups.

i shot these tests of my friend Holly in a field full of them

But this is what it looked like in the night time, it was pitch black when we took these and we lit with a torch.
That red sky came from nowhere!

That's what i love about analogue photography, it reveals things to you that were never there.

Painted Rachels

So i had my first go at hand tinting an image in the style of old postcards like this:

These were my results achieved by painting on old laser prints:

Not excellent, but it's nice to experiment and i think they show potential for something better in the future.

Justin Wu

These nudes by Justin Wu are beautiful.
I think it would be so interesting to see a female model shot in the same way...

Old Polaroid

Today i found this old polaroid my friend took of me last year:
i love how sophisticated her styling is but our chair looks so phallic!

Spellbinding

An image from a test that i shot with the help of Daniel D'Silva for an ongoing fashion photography project i am planning about witchcraft.
Long exposure with moving candles on square format film.

Object Scans

Simon Ward's dead animals scans reminded me of these pictures i made with Suzie Laloe last summer using dead bees and bird bones on a flatbed scanner.
We made some incorporating some of Suzie's life drawings too which i will have to find...
Check out Suzie's blog at loveinallitsforms.blogspot.com

Simon Ward

Simon Ward is a friend of one of my teachers at LCF, who showed me his incredible work.
Amongst other things he uses a flatbed scanner to make these amazing images of animals:

Hand Tinting

Found this amazing old post-card at Broadway Market today.
i love the hand-colouring technique and really want to learn how to do it.

Pastoral Summer

Yesterday i scanned lots of old negatives, these are from last summer at home on Scilly.

New Boots

These are my boots...
I got tired of drawing them properly and did a continuous line drawing instead.

They're pretty, I love them.

Old Postcards

I bought these beautiful old photographs from The Other Side of the Pillow, a beautiful shop on my road. I find them really inspiring but I don't know what for yet...

For Your Pleasure

Friday was the latest issued launch for my friend's online publication Ribbed Magazine.

It was a great night and the next issue "The Remake" should be launching shortly at

New Polaroid

New Polaroids come with cute quotes relating to the Impossible Project:

The films is totally unpredictable and not very much like the old Polaroid at all ... but I did take this nice photo of John and Dan yesterday using it. The mood is really nostalgic, this photo reminds me of summertime skateboarding glory days like Lords of Dogtown or something.

Tattoo Film

Got the first films processed from my new camera and i am really happy with how they've come out.

They were more photos of Adam tattooing Frank:

Yummy Tattoos.

Urban Foxes

A very last-minutre three image project for school based on The Street.

Following on from earlier work about animals the theme of these images is an urban fox living in the city.
Self-Styled Model: Madeline Weeks.

Beautiful

This image by Ryan McGinley is incredible.
He can do no wrong in my eyes anyway but this is beyond beautiful.
So inspiring.

Illuminations

These images were all about creating the idea of another world where someone could exist on their own terms.
Created it using LEDs inside balloons within a pathway lined with trees and lit the model using torch-light over a long exposure.

These are flash-lit polaroids of how the shoot actually looked.

Broadway Today

Today i bought this amazing slice of cake with a bird painted on it.
i haven't eaten it yet because it is too pretty.

i also got this flower which someone told me is
called ranunculus... i think this is a
fantastically ugly name for a beautiful
flower.

it was a really good day.
