Everybody's a Filmmaker Today.

So I've finally had a go at making a couple of very short films, using stop motion stringing together 35mm photographs I shot of Alys in two locations last week. It's my very first attempt at film, and though still very embryonic I think there's a lot of potential for doing exciting things here...

Over the Wine Dark Sea

Ballad Of... Magazine featured me on their Brand New Art We Heart blog and included some images from my Final Major Project at London College of Fashion:

Here, finally, is the series in full, shot using Polaroid on location in Cornwall.
I really feel it is my best work to date, please let me know if you agree of disagree:

I Can Catch the Moon in my Hands, Don't You know Who I am?

Lately I have been reunited with my childhood friend Alys, who has grown up to become an amazing actress and singer. She was recently scouted by M and P models so we did a little shoot together in the streets around my flat in East London.

Normally I shy away from the urban landscape in favour of more natural settings, so this was a great chance for me to practice working in an unfamiliar environment. It was also exciting to work with a model who is trained in acting, as this meant she felt comfortable adopting different personas while we were shooting.

The camera scratched up some of the negatives, which although not so good for Aly's portfolio, I've included here anyway as I find them really interesting ...

The Flukes of the Universe, the Kindness of the Muses

Lately I  have been lucky enough to photograph the very beautiful Lora Hayes on a few occasions.
A girl with a passion for the darker side of fairy tales, fashion and pathology, it's rare to find a model with such an amazing attitude towards creativity and collaboration.

Hopefully we will be working on some more experimental projects together soon.

Alice Overington Lookbook

Recently Marina and I shot a lookbook for graduate designer named Alice Overington, her incredible pieces were inspired by interior fabrics and a lot of her jackets are reminiscent of duvets, so snuggly, who wouldn't want to wear their duvet all day...

I Just Don't Know What I'm Supposed To Be...

I re-watched Sophia Coppola's Lost in Translation recently and part of the dialogue really resonated with my current state of mind:

Charlotte: I just don't know what I'm supposed to be.

Bob: You'll figure that out. The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.

Charlotte: I tried taking pictures, but they were so mediocre. I guess every girl goes through a photography phase. You know, horses... taking pictures of your feet.

I have so many pictures of my feet:

Uh-ow!
